struggling

it's really hard to blog more when you have nothing to say. i keep writing half posts in my head/in draft. but by the time i get around to actually fleshing them out, my brain is empty

i'm still catching up on blogs from back in october (worst reader ever). still tweeting about nothing. have zero projects at work. class is still three weeks away... there is very little happening in my life that y'all don't already know about

what have i been doing all week? playing with my budget. even though it's done, i never stop tweaking... updating my planner. this is the first year ever that i started without the new pages in my planner ready to go. i don't know who i am sometimes... checked out a new weight watchers meeting with mom. we're officially switching because anne marie is seriously lacking in the friendliness. plus i discriminate against people who've lost weight and still have cankles... skyped with jesse, which was mostly watching him play saints row II :p ...
oh! my new games arrived on wed, but i haven't retrieved them from my parents' yet. which is convenient because my bird print arrived yesterday (check out rini's designs). i swear half my fave etsy shops are owned by bloggers. i'm gonna swing by the house after work to pick everything up... tomorrow starts the cooking extravaganza. goal was one recipe per week, but i'm tackling four. one of which utilizes something from the chez schoon and neal pantry :) ... i'm baking up teal velvet cupcakes tonight. i knew neal would be jealous of the anniversary cupcakes i made (red velvet is his favorite) so i figured i'd make a batch for him. unfortunately, i used all the red (and a little yellow) so i only have a full thing of blue left. i don't think there's enough yellow left for green cupcakes, hence the teal. regardless, they'll be nomalicious... sunday, of course, is wild card day so i'll be glued to the tv from 1pm til whenever the late game ends

so yea. that's my exciting life... when did i stop being interesting?

What IS a velvet cupcake? I've heard of them before but have no clue what they actually are, though they sound very nomalicious :)

This weekend I have a bit of a cooking extravaganza, too - we got some new recipe books lately so we're having friends over to be guinea pigs for our endeavours...

in the northern states, red velvet is really just red devil's food cake. they use entirely too much cocoa. in the southern states, red velvet is this awesomely moist cake with just a touch of cocoa and crapton of red food coloring. SO GOOD

that's a fun idea inviting people over to taste test! i hope the any sauces don't attack you this time ;)

I *just* ate a slice of red velvet cheesecake a few minutes ago (before I read your post!). Mind you, it was a HUGE splurge and will put me over my calorie budget for the day, but it's soooo worth it! Layered cake and cheesecake? Heavenly! Or is that sinful? ;) I see a trip on the elliptical in my future tonight... haha!

lol well if it motivates you to hop on the elliptical, it can't be all bad ;)

Aw, thanks for the plug! :)

I can completely understand the whole just waiting around for something to happen. Totally in the same place, except I don't have a specific thing I'm waiting for. Just something, a job, school... I'd take anything. :)

i think the waiting, but not knowing is way worse. i am not a girl who likes the unexpected :/
